unpopular opinion

There’s a popular saying that goes around in church that say that, “God will never put us in situations we cannot handle. Unpopular opinion, He does. I know you’re wondering what l'm on about but let me explain. I have been put in situations l can’t handle for most of my life anyway and when people would tell me that God would never put me in a situation l couldn’t handle it really made me feel like l was weak or l wasn’t praying enough or l wasn’t a strong enough Christian because l would be breaking down, on the verge of collapse, definitely not handling the situation well and someone would say that to my face. Well I don’t think that statement is very accurate at all, it honestly kind of misleading .if you have a different opinion go argue with your mother or just respectfully write your thoughts in the comments

Well first of all, His power is made perfect in my WEAKNESS.do you hear that l must be weak for Gods strength to be demonstrated in my life. I must be breaking down for God's peace, Peace that surpasses all understanding to reach me. My mental health must be hanging by threads for His healing power to be demonstrated in my life. He puts me in situations l can’t handle so His power is demonstrated. He is with me in the ashes. I have struggled with a lot of things and people invalidated what l felt with sentiments such as these, the intentions were good but it honestly came of as a lack of empathy. I would ask myself if my depression due to certain situations was a direct reflection of my relationship with God .I felt bad for feeling emotions but l'm human and l am allowed to feel. The real problem would be staying  in that depressed state knowing fully well that my father in heaven is a healer, anyway that’s not the point of this blog. Life is too much to handle, school is too much to handle, everything is too much to handle but we handle it because we have Christ .In 1 Kings 19 ,Elijah was in the wilderness ,Jezebel was threatening to kill him and He prayed to God for death, he collapsed twice because he was starved and the angles fed him and led him to the mountain of God .Two things l want to take from this firstly ,frankly l don’t think Elijah handling the situation at all ,he was tired, burned out ,weary but God was with him in the ashes ,when he hit rock bottom he found strength in GOD. Secondly your purpose is greater than your grief so don’t let it consume you. Cry if you need to, but remember that God is right next to you, holding your hand making sure that it is all working out for your good. So let me rephrase that very inaccurate statement, “God will never put us in situations we cannot handle, WITHOUT HIM!!!!!!!!!”In Him is our victory and salvation.

“No temptation has overtaken you, except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
